Patrol divison
The Patrol Division is the largest division in the Newtown PD. Consisting of a Patrol Lieutenant, 6 Patrol Sergeants and 25 Patrol Officers.
They are responsible for responding to all calls for service and handling the day to day functions of providing protection and safety within the borders of the Town of Newtown.
This division is staffed for 24/7 coverage of the community across three shifts: Midnight shift, between the hours of Midnight and 8:00 AM, Day shift, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and Evening shift, between the hours of 4:00 PM and Midnight.
Many of the Officers in the patrol division also serve concurrently on one of our specialized units and/or have ancillary duties within the department depending on their unique skills and qualifications
